The Southeast Missouri men and women lead after the first day of the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championship.

The 2014 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship gets underway today. Tennessee State will serve as the host for the two-event.

The Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Year were announced on Thursday as voted on by the league s track and field coaches. Six different member institutions were represented by the winners.

Eastern Illinois Calvin Edwards, Dhiaa Dean, and Peter Geraghty; and Southeast Missouri s Blake Smith and Kayla Gutierrez were named the adidas OVC Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Eastern Illinois' Calvin Edwards and Mick Viken, Belmont's Hannah Wittman, SIUE's La'Derrick Ward and Murray State Tonia Pratt earned adidas OVC Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors.

Eastern Illinois' Calvin Edwards, Murray State's LaShae Shaw, Southeast Missouri's Blake Carter and SIUE's Jatavia Wright were named the OVC Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
